Wapooti Mixed Ultimate Tournament

June Tournament Status Update

We have made the decision to open the tournament up to all mixed teams instead of restricting it to GM aged open players. As a brand new tournament the uptake from GM+ teams wasn’t quite fast enough and we didn’t have enough time to wait for more teams to register. So at least for this year we are going ahead as a mixed tournament.

Registration is open now and we expect the tournament to fill up very quickly. Get your teams together and registered ASAP to guarantee your spot.

Please note that the team registration fee includes up to 10 players to hold your spot. Those players will still have to roster in the registration. Additional players register on the “Join an existing team” option.

Cheers,

May Tournament Status Update

Wapooti is a go for August 12-13!

We’ll determine costs soon, and will provide information on payment etc at that time, but it will be reasonable. If your team has expressed interest already, assume that you are in. We are still looking for a couple more teams as well, and if you are an individual looking for a team, I’ll work with you on that.

I recommend looking into booking accommodations early, Canmore and region gets busy in the summer and you can get caught in a squeeze and $$$ if you act late.

Here are a couple pictures from last week, 24C in May (75F). The grass is starting to green up as ski season just ended. The Bow River at the end of the fields is still low, but will come up with snowmelt.

I highly recommend staying in the area before or after to enjoy the Rocky Mountains.

BTW, Ha Ling Peak is the mountain in the background in the first photo, Mount Rundle is in the second photo. They both have a starting point to their main peak trails at Goat Creek Day Use Area on the Spray Lakes access road above town past the road to Quarry Lake…Ha Ling is the better choice to bag a starter mountain peak – my kids have done it!

Cheers,

Andrew
